Spice Up Your Test Prep 🌶️

We’ve been there - the days of test prep can be intense. Here are some ideas on how you can increase engagement and actually have fun while preparing for the state test!

Create short goals for your students (ones they can hit daily or within the week) to make the review lessons more fun and engaging. Once they hit the goal, a reward is redeemed and you start over! Check out these free reward ideas from our team:

• Extra recess
• Extra brain break
• Free Tech time
• Movie lunch: Students can watch a movie in class while eating lunch
• Test the teacher: The class compiles a test for the teacher to see how they score (any silly, but appropriate question like, “what did Johnny wear 3 days ago?”)
• Seated teacher: Since students spend so much time sitting during testing, it’s only fair that the teacher has to teach for a period or the day in a seated manner.
• 5 Minutes of Open notes before next test: Students can purchase this to get 5 minutes of open note time before their next test.
• Trivia Hour: Teacher hosts a trivia style game.

Finish Strong with Recaps 💪

An easy way to end the year with strong communication and teacher accountability is to turn on Recaps. Recaps is a weekly email that gets sent to students and parents with a summary of their LiveSchool points for the week. And, it’s no additional work on your teachers! Support your students in taking ownership over their behavior by having them receive a Recap email and reflect on the points they received.

And since your school is setup via Clever sync, your students will automatically start receiving the emails once you turn Recaps on!

To undo a point in LiveSchool:

1. Click on the name of the student(s)
2. Click on the three dots under your initials in the top right corner.
3. Choose Timeline to view a report where you can see all of the points you have awarded.
4. Find the point you want to undo and click on the “x” on the right of the screen next to your name.
